NINA SIMONE WIG (FILM/TV)

This was the second wig from my project looking into the representation of women throughout history. For this wig I wanted to re-create Nina Simone's natural hair to be suitable for a Biopic film. She was a brave woman who was not afraid to put her career on the line to fight for what she believed in, which at the time was the Civil Rights Movement. This wig was created using permed asian hair and it was my first time working with afro textured hair. I was unable to apply this to a model due to COVID-19 restrictions however I aim to do this in the future.
